I have recently started exploring the world of firing pottery with wood with two potter friends of mine. This is an adventure that, to me, leads right to the heart of what makes a successful pot. When a piece of pottery has been subjected to the ash and flames of a wood fire it takes on characteristics that only that singular experience can bring to pottery. It is a collaboration of people, energy, clay and fire that makes for some remarkably beautiful work. Take a look:

each of these pieces has a story to tell of its time in the fire. New work will appear with each firing.
